1990 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R – Intercooler Installation, PRP Rear Differential Cover & Servicing
This exceptional 1990 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R recently visited Kreskas Automotive in Croydon South for routine servicing and a selection of performance upgrades. Powered by Nissan's legendary RB26DETT twin-turbocharged straight-six engine, this particular example features a modified engine built with forged internal components, reflecting the considerable performance potential of Nissan's iconic GT-R platform. As part of the vehicle's ongoing development, we installed an upgraded intercooler and a Platinum Racing Products (PRP) rear differential cover, alongside essential mechanical maintenance.

High-performance turbocharged engines generate considerable heat, making effective charge-air cooling particularly important. An upgraded intercooler is designed to improve intake air temperature management, supporting more consistent performance under demanding driving conditions. Forged engine internals can provide additional strength for increased performance demands, but careful maintenance and appropriate supporting modifications remain essential. We also fitted a PRP rear differential cover, an aftermarket component designed to improve differential oil capacity and heat management. These upgrades reflect the importance of considering the engine, cooling system and drivetrain together when maintaining a heavily modified performance vehicle.
